The hatchet/Axe is the tool used in Woodcutting to chop trees.
A hatchet is a melee weapon, available in all varieties of metal except white, although its power and speed are less favourable than many other weapons. Hatchets can be used to slash webs.
Types of Axes/Hatchets[]
Bronze - Tier 1 axes which require 1 attack and 1 woodcutting to wield and use respectively.
Iron - Tier 2 axes which require 1 attack and 1 woodcutting to wield and use respectively.
Steel - Tier 3 axes which are currently not available for players to use. (You cannot smith Steel items)
Mithril - Tier 4 axes which require 20 attack and 21 woodcutting to wield and use respectively.
Adamant - Tier 5 axes which require 30 attack and 31 woodcutting to wield and use respectively.
Rune - Tier 6 axes which require 40 attack and 41 woodcutting to wield and use respectively.
Dragon - Tier 7 axes which require 60 attack and 61 woodcutting to wield and use respectively.
Inferno Adze - Tier 8 axes which require 1 attack and 71 Woodcutting to wield and use respectively.
